Gosto de cidades grandes. Da agitação do dia-a-dia e da movida da noite.
Em cidades como Lisboa, há sempre algo a acontecer, há sempre um novo restaurante, bar ou café, um novo espaço cultural, uma nova loja.
Adoro esta sensação de descoberta, de experimentar novos espaços, de viver algo pela primeira vez. Principalmente quando inclui comida!
Adoro comida mexicana [embora não consiga tolerar muito bem o picante] e, em geral, não é fácil encontrar um bom restaurante mexicano. Durante muito tempo, esta foi uma grande falha de Lisboa, não havia um mexicano autêntico.
Assim que soube da novidade tentei logo reservar mesa, mas não foi fácil, estava sempre lotado! Bom sinal ou histeria?
No inicio desta semana, finalmente consegui fazer a tão desejada reserva.
O primeiro impacto é extraordinário [principalmente se chegarmos cedo e o restaurante ainda estiver um pouco vazio] - a decoração é perfeita, conseguiram encontrar o ponto de equilíbrio entre o estilo minimal e o estilo mexicano, com peças fortes e marcantes que pontuam o espaço de uma forma impactante. O atendimento é muito profissional e são todos muito simpáticos e descontraídos.
A ementa é simples [o que é ótimo] - entradas, tacos, ceviche e saladas. Quem for guloso, vai escolher a sobremesa ainda antes de começar a comer as entradas.
Os nachos que acompanham as entradas são picantes [e não há opção], por isso, se forem sensíveis ao picante, esperem pelas bebidas. O guacamole é excelente e as margaritas são muito boas, fortes e servidos ao verdadeiro estilo mexicano.
Os tacos também são bons, experimentámos o de camarão [sem picante] e o de frango [muito picante] e foram uma boa escolha. Pessoalmente acrescentava a manga do taco de frango também ao de camarão [que foi o que acabei por fazer, já no prato]. Fica muito bom!
Por fim, a tal sobremesa. A única palavra que retive da descrição da ementa foi 'churros', mas quando nos disseram os outros ingredientes foi mesmo impossível resistir, nem que seja pela curiosidade porque, pelo menos eu, nunca tinha comido uma sobremesa com cogumelos! Vale a pena, é uma bomba calórica mas é deliciosa.
Toda a experiência é muito boa, vale a pena, é uma noite bem passada, com boas vibes e boa comida.

El Clandestino com vontade de voltar e com a sensação boa de que, finalmente, começamos a ter bons mexicanos na cidade.

In cities such as Lisbon, there is always something happening, there is always a new restaurant, bar or cafe, a new cultural space, a new store.
I love this feeling of discovery, of trying new places, of living something for the first time. Especially when it includes food!
I love Mexican food [though I can't tolerate very well the spicy] and, in general, is not easy to find a good Mexican restaurant. For a long time this was a major failure of Lisbon, there was no authentic Mexican.
Once you heard the news, I immediately tried to book a table, but it wasn't easy, was always crowded! Good sign or hysteria?
Earlier this week, I finally managed to make the much desired reservation.
The first impact is extraordinary [especially if we get early and the restaurant is still a little empty] - the decor is perfect, managed to find the balance between the minimal style and the Mexican style, with strong, striking pieces that punctuate the space an impactful way. The service is very professional and they are all very friendly and relaxed.
The menu is simple [which is great] - appetizers, tacos, ceviche and salads. Who is a sweet tooth, will choose the dessert even before starting to eat the appetizers.
The nachos of the appetizers are spicy [and there is no option], so if you are sensitive to spicy, wait for the drinks. The guacamole is excellent and the margaritas are very good, strong and served in true Mexican style.
The tacos are also good, we tried the shrimp [without spicy] and the chicken [very spicy] and it was a good choice. Personally, I added the mango of the chicken taco also to the shrimp [which is what I ended up doing on my plate]. It's very good!
Finally, the dessert. The only word I retained from the description of the menu was 'churros' but when they told us the other ingredients was impossible to resist, if only by curiosity, because at least I've never eaten a dessert with mushrooms! It's worth, is a calorie bomb but it's delicious.
The whole experience is very good, it's worth, it's a well spent evening with good vibes and good food.
I left the
El Clandestino with the desire to return and the good feeling that finally we began to have good Mexican in town.
