Recently I discovered mahabis, the brand that created my next slippers.

It's a great idea. Adds minimal style and design to this piece so much need and that is part of our daily lives [at least on cold days] - slippers.

It's never easy for me to find slippers. They are always 'too much', very colorful, with dolls or drawings, oversized. I know that it is because the market dictates the trends, but I never identified myself with this style. I want something that is comfortable but I can also get someone at home and don't have to switch to shoes.

Even better, they have a special sole that can be placed when needed, a super easy way for when we need to go to the balcony, to the terrace, or even for the more 'adventurous', to the bakery to buy bread on mornings.

Simply perfect. They integrate all that is essential in slippers - comfort, design, practicality, and better, although the brand is English, the slippers are manufactured in Portugal [is so good that my country production is recognized for its quality].

Recentemente descobri a mahabis, a marca que criou os meus próximos slippers.

É uma ideia genial. Acrescenta o estilo e design minimal a esta peça que tanto precisa e que faz parte do nosso quotidiano [pelo menos nos dias frios] - as pantufas. 

Não é fácil, para mim, encontrar pantufas. São sempre 'too much', muito coloridas, com bonecos ou desenhos, exageradamente grandes. Sei que assim são porque o mercado dita as tendências, mas eu nunca me identifiquei com este estilo. Quero algo que seja confortável mas que também dê para receber alguém em casa e não ter que trocar para sapatos.

E o melhor, têm uma sola especial, que se pode colocar quando necessário, de forma super fácil, para quando precisamos de ir à varanda, ao terraço, ou até, para os mais 'aventureiros' ao café, comprar o pão pela manhã.

São perfeitas. Integram tudo o que é essencial numas pantufas - conforto, design, praticidade, e melhor, embora a marca seja Inglesa, as pantufas são fabricadas em Portugal [é tão bom que a nossa produção seja reconhecida pela qualidade].

Magic lights for your home.

Os pontos de luz são um dos elementos mais importantes na decoração. Através da luz, consegue-se criar espaços acolhedores, onde apetece realmente estar. 

Luzes quentes, pequenos pontos de luz, luzes baixas, todos estes 'truques' fazem a diferença num espaço. 

Adoro estar numa sala sem luzes de tecto. O ambiente fica muito mais acolhedor se ligarmos candeeiros de mesa, luzes colocadas atrás de móveis e grinaldas de luz. 

São um dos meus acessórios de decoração preferidos, dão um toque especial a qualquer espaço. Antigamente,  'roubava' as luzes da árvore de Natal e utilizava-as durante todo o ano, mas agora já não faltam opções, embora eu continue a preferir as mais simples. 

As suas aplicações são infinitas. Ficam lindas na cabeceira da cama ou no dossel, nos varões dos cortinados, em estantes, em espelhos, num aparador ou até mesmo no chão.

Opções não faltam e o resultado é sempre mágico.

The light points are one of the most important elements in the decor. Through the light, you can create cozy spaces which is pleasant to actually being.

Hot lights, small points of light, low lights, all these 'tricks' make a difference in a space.

I love being in a room with no ceiling lights. The atmosphere is much more welcoming if we connect table lamps, lights placed behind furniture and light wreaths.

Are one of my favorite decorating accessories, they give a special touch to any space. Previously I 'stole' Christmas tree lights and used them throughout the year, but now there are already many options, although I continue to prefer the simplest.

Their applications are endless. They look beautiful on the headboard or canopy, on the rods of curtains, on bookshelves, on mirrors, in a sideboard or even on the floor.

Options abound and the result is always magical.

Não sou fã de mini bags, preciso de espaço para as mil e uma coisas que vou colocando na mala ao longo do dia...telemóvel, carteira, óculos, ipad, carregadores, leque, casaco, enfim, uma lista interminável que tento sempre reduzir mas que, normalmente, se torna impossível.

Até que apareceu a New Metropolis Bag da Furla e o design e elegância sobrepuseram-se à necessidade de espaço. Quando tiver uma, vou viver muito bem só com a carteira e o telemóvel, não vou precisar de mais nada!

I'm not a fan of mini bags, I need space for a thousand and one things that I put in my bag during the day... mobile phone, wallet, sunglasses, ipad, mobile chargers, coat, a long list that I always try to reduce but usually it becomes impossible.

Until it appeared the New Metropolis Bag of Furla, and design and elegance overlapped the need for space. When I have one, I will live well only with my wallet and phone, I will not need anything else!

In yellow is beautiful but, in black or dark teal, becomes perfect.

Num final de tarde de Inverno fui convidada a descobrir os tons da Primavera.

Ao entrar no lindíssimo showroom da Pedroso & Osório, esqueci completamente o dia cinzento e chuvoso que estava lá fora.

As cores da próxima Primavera estão por todo o lado, desde os tecidos ao papel de parede, tudo é deslumbrante. De repente, só apetece ter uma casa na praia para a decorar com todos estes padrões vibrantes e que transmitem uma energia maravilhosa.

O director da Designers Guild - Chris Grafham - veio a Portugal apresentar as novas colecções da marca. De uma forma apaixonada e contagiante, mostrou-nos a colecção Shanghai Garden e as colecções de Christian Lacroix e de Ralph Lauren para a Designers Guild.

A colecção Shangai Garden é linda, transmite toda a essência dos jardins orientais e é naturalmente serena. Já a colecção de Christian Lacroix é vibrante e excêntrica, transporta-nos para o interior de uma floresta luxuriante. Na colecção de Ralph Lauren não houve lugar para a inovação, a colecção não foge ao que a marca é - as cores, os padrões, as texturas - o clássico americano.

Fiquei apaixonada pelos padrões da Shangai Garden que parecem pintados à mão com a leveza de um artista e pelo padrão treliça de Christian Lacroix. Uma verdadeira ode à Primavera.

In a winter late afternoon I was invited to discover the colours of spring.

Upon entering in the stunning Pedroso & Osório's showroom, completely forgot the grey and rainy day that was out there.

The colors of next spring are everywhere, from the fabrics to wallpaper, everything is stunning. Suddenly, I just feel like I want a beach house to decorate with all these vibrant patterns that give a wonderful energy.

The director of Designers Guild - Chris Grafham - came to Portugal to present the new collections of the brand. In a passionate and contagious way, Chris showed us the Shanghai Garden collection and the collections of Christian Lacroix and Ralph Lauren for Designers Guild.

The Shanghai Garden collection is beautiful, conveys the essence of oriental gardens and is naturally quiet. The Christian Lacroix collection is vibrant and eccentric, transports us to the inside of a lush forest. In the Ralph Lauren collection there was no room for innovation, the collection is no exception to what the brand is - colours, patterns, textures - the American classic.

I became fascinated by the patterns of Shanghai Garden that look hand-painted with the lightness of an artist and the trellis pattern of Christian Lacroix. A true ode to spring.

Desde que as vi, no último concerto dos Sigur Rós, que fiquei apaixonada por estas lâmpadas.

São vibrantes e hipnotizantes. Era capaz se ficar a olhar para elas durante horas. 

São uma das minhas peças de decoração preferidas dentro de um dos estilos que mais me fascina - o estilo industrial. 

E são estes pequenos detalhes que fazem com que me apeteça tanto ter uma casa nova. Só para a decorar.

Since I saw it in the last concert of Sigur Rós, that I was in love with these lamps.

They are vibrant and mesmerizing. I was able to stare at them for hours.

They are one of my favorite decorative items inside one of the styles that fascinates me the most - industrial style.

And are these little details that make me feel like I want a new home. Just to decorate.

Alguns bloggers, incluindo a Bri Emery do lindíssimo Design Love Fest, já tiveram a oportunidade de experimentar a nova workstation criativa da HP.

Estou deslumbrada. Vejam o potencial. 

[Ainda não chegou à Europa mas está quase. Esta Primavera, chega ao Reino Unido. Se chegar a Portugal lá para Maio, vem mesmo a tempo do meu aniversário.]

It's a great innovation from HP, is called Sprout and it is [will be] a great work tool.

Some bloggers, including Bri Emery from the beautiful Design Love Fest, already had the opportunity to try the new creative workstation from HP.

I'm dazzled. Look at the potential.

Porque, por vezes, certas coisas aparecem nos meus sonhos e, de repente, estão ali, quase ao virar de uma esquina.

Objects that changed the world.

Há objectos que estão, desde sempre, presentes nas nossas vidas mas que nos causam um certo fascínio. Talvez por serem emblemáticos, pelas memórias que invocam ou pelo próprio design, existem objectos que mudaram o mundo.

Este é o mote para a nova exposição presente no Roca Lisboa Gallery. Quarenta ícones do design e da criatividade estão expostos neste edifício, só por si magnifico, na Avenida da Liberdade, até Março de 2015.

Objectos como a Vespa Piaggio 125, o Macintosh 514 K, a Polaroid Land Camera Model 95, a caneta BIC e a Remington nº 1 - a primeira máquina de escrever produzida industrialmente, estão presentes nesta exposição e são os objectos que mais curiosidade me despertam, pela influência e importância que [os seus sucessores] ainda hoje têm na minha vida.

Para além das Polaroids que têm um significado especial pois muitas fotos da minha infância são polaroids, também as máquinas de escrever exercem um enorme fascínio sobre mim. 

A escrita, o toque, o peso das teclas e os sons de uma máquina de escrever são especiais para mim. Ainda hoje guardo como relíquia a máquina de escrever dos meus pais. Tenho muita pena que este revolucionário objecto de design se perca no mundo virtual de hoje.

Escrever numa máquina de escrever é simplemente extraordinário. Ainda se lembram?

There are objects that are always been present in our lives but that cause us a certain fascination. Perhaps because they are emblematic, by the memories they invoke or the design itself, there are objects that have changed the world.

This is the motto for the new exhibition of Roca Lisboa Gallery. Forty icons of design and creativity are exposed in this building, by itself magnificent, in Avenida da Liberdade [Lisbon], until March 2015.

Objects such as Piaggio Vespa 125, the Macintosh 514 K, the Land Camera Model Polaroid 95, BIC pen and the Remington # 1 - the first typewriter produced industrially, are present in this exhibition and are those objects that awaken more curiosity to me, by the influence and importance of [their successors] still have in my life.

Beyond the Polaroids that have special meaning because many photos of my childhood are polaroids also typewriters wield enormous fascination for me.

The writing, the touch, the weight of the keys and the sounds of a typewriter are special to me. I still keep as a relic the typewriter from my parents. I'm so sad that this revolutionary design object is lost in the virtual world of today.
