Spring mood in a Winter afternoon.

I was recently invited by Pedroso & Osório, to know the new collection from Designers Guild.

It was a beautiful event, in a Winter cold day but with a taste of Spring.

The presented collections are wonderful [as always] and 'breathe' spring. Flowers, colors, patterns, textures. All elements of these collections refer back to the seasons that follow.

It was a totally versatile presentation. The Designers Guild fabrics always seem to have been hand-painted each piece, the eccentricity of Christian Lacroix so catchy, is always welcome [the part of fabrics, I surrendered to beach towels - so gorgeous], and the elegance and sobriety of Ralph Lauren.

At the end they proposed us the challenge to create a mood board on textures. It was an interesting challenge and it made me think about working plenty the combination of textures in the decoration of my next home. Sometimes we are afraid to do it but works very well.

Recentemente, fui convidada, pela Pedroso & Osório, para conhecer a nova colecção da Designers Guild.

Foi um evento lindíssimo, num dia gelado de Inverno mas com sabor a Primavera.

As colecções apresentadas são maravilhosas [como sempre] e 'respiram' Primavera. Flores, cores, padrões, texturas. Todos os elementos destas colecções remetem para as estações que se seguem.

Foi uma apresentação totalmente versátil. Os tecidos da Designers Guild parecem sempre que foram pintados à mão em cada peça, a excentricidade de Christian Lacroix tão cativante, é sempre bem-vindo [à parte dos tecidos, fiquei rendida às toalhas de praia - lindas!], e a elegância e sobriedade de Ralph Lauren.

No final ainda nos propuseram o desafio de criarmos um moodboard sobre texturas. Foi um desafio bem interessante e que me fez pensar em trabalhar bastante a conjugação de texturas na decoração da minha próxima casa. Por vezes temos receio de o fazer mas resulta muito bem.

Minimalist interior design [freak].

Há uns meses surgiu a hipótese [muito] remota de mudar de casa e, desde então, não consigo parar de decorar, ainda que mentalmente, o 'novo' apartamento.

Desde de sempre que tenho um certo fascínio por decoração e arquitectura de interiores e, caso este projecto avance, vai ser maravilhoso pois, como a construção ainda não foi iniciada, será possível fazer pequenas alterações ao espaço.

A loucura é tanta que todas essas alterações já estão desenhadas por cima da planta original.

O estilo já está há muito definido - minimalista com inspiração industrial e escandinava. As cores base também - preto, branco, tons de cinzento e madeira na cor natural. Até pequenos detalhes como o tom preto mate das torneiras já está pensado.

Se, no final, nada disto se tornar realidade, vale pelo divertimento e por toda a inspiração e sites interessantes que estou a descobrir.

A few months ago came the [very] remote hypothesis to move to a new house and, since then, I can't stop decorating, even mentally, the 'new' apartment.

Since whenever, I have a certain fascination for decoration and interior architecture and, if this project go forward, will be wonderful because, as the construction has not yet started, I can make small changes to the space.

Madness is such that all these changes are already drawn over the original plan.

The style is long been set - minimalist with an industrial and scandinavian inspiration. The base colors too - black, white, shades of gray and wood in natural color. Even small details like the matte black tone of the taps, are already thought.

If, in the end, none of this is true, it's worth all the fun and all the inspirational and interesting sites that I discover.

Magic lights for your home.

Os pontos de luz são um dos elementos mais importantes na decoração. Através da luz, consegue-se criar espaços acolhedores, onde apetece realmente estar. 

Luzes quentes, pequenos pontos de luz, luzes baixas, todos estes 'truques' fazem a diferença num espaço. 

Adoro estar numa sala sem luzes de tecto. O ambiente fica muito mais acolhedor se ligarmos candeeiros de mesa, luzes colocadas atrás de móveis e grinaldas de luz. 

São um dos meus acessórios de decoração preferidos, dão um toque especial a qualquer espaço. Antigamente,  'roubava' as luzes da árvore de Natal e utilizava-as durante todo o ano, mas agora já não faltam opções, embora eu continue a preferir as mais simples. 

As suas aplicações são infinitas. Ficam lindas na cabeceira da cama ou no dossel, nos varões dos cortinados, em estantes, em espelhos, num aparador ou até mesmo no chão.

Opções não faltam e o resultado é sempre mágico.

The light points are one of the most important elements in the decor. Through the light, you can create cozy spaces which is pleasant to actually being.

Hot lights, small points of light, low lights, all these 'tricks' make a difference in a space.

I love being in a room with no ceiling lights. The atmosphere is much more welcoming if we connect table lamps, lights placed behind furniture and light wreaths.

Are one of my favorite decorating accessories, they give a special touch to any space. Previously I 'stole' Christmas tree lights and used them throughout the year, but now there are already many options, although I continue to prefer the simplest.

Their applications are endless. They look beautiful on the headboard or canopy, on the rods of curtains, on bookshelves, on mirrors, in a sideboard or even on the floor.

Options abound and the result is always magical.

Num final de tarde de Inverno fui convidada a descobrir os tons da Primavera.

Ao entrar no lindíssimo showroom da Pedroso & Osório, esqueci completamente o dia cinzento e chuvoso que estava lá fora.

As cores da próxima Primavera estão por todo o lado, desde os tecidos ao papel de parede, tudo é deslumbrante. De repente, só apetece ter uma casa na praia para a decorar com todos estes padrões vibrantes e que transmitem uma energia maravilhosa.

O director da Designers Guild - Chris Grafham - veio a Portugal apresentar as novas colecções da marca. De uma forma apaixonada e contagiante, mostrou-nos a colecção Shanghai Garden e as colecções de Christian Lacroix e de Ralph Lauren para a Designers Guild.

A colecção Shangai Garden é linda, transmite toda a essência dos jardins orientais e é naturalmente serena. Já a colecção de Christian Lacroix é vibrante e excêntrica, transporta-nos para o interior de uma floresta luxuriante. Na colecção de Ralph Lauren não houve lugar para a inovação, a colecção não foge ao que a marca é - as cores, os padrões, as texturas - o clássico americano.

Fiquei apaixonada pelos padrões da Shangai Garden que parecem pintados à mão com a leveza de um artista e pelo padrão treliça de Christian Lacroix. Uma verdadeira ode à Primavera.

In a winter late afternoon I was invited to discover the colours of spring.

Upon entering in the stunning Pedroso & Osório's showroom, completely forgot the grey and rainy day that was out there.

The colors of next spring are everywhere, from the fabrics to wallpaper, everything is stunning. Suddenly, I just feel like I want a beach house to decorate with all these vibrant patterns that give a wonderful energy.

The director of Designers Guild - Chris Grafham - came to Portugal to present the new collections of the brand. In a passionate and contagious way, Chris showed us the Shanghai Garden collection and the collections of Christian Lacroix and Ralph Lauren for Designers Guild.

The Shanghai Garden collection is beautiful, conveys the essence of oriental gardens and is naturally quiet. The Christian Lacroix collection is vibrant and eccentric, transports us to the inside of a lush forest. In the Ralph Lauren collection there was no room for innovation, the collection is no exception to what the brand is - colours, patterns, textures - the American classic.

I became fascinated by the patterns of Shanghai Garden that look hand-painted with the lightness of an artist and the trellis pattern of Christian Lacroix. A true ode to spring.

Desde que as vi, no último concerto dos Sigur Rós, que fiquei apaixonada por estas lâmpadas.

São vibrantes e hipnotizantes. Era capaz se ficar a olhar para elas durante horas. 

São uma das minhas peças de decoração preferidas dentro de um dos estilos que mais me fascina - o estilo industrial. 

E são estes pequenos detalhes que fazem com que me apeteça tanto ter uma casa nova. Só para a decorar.

Since I saw it in the last concert of Sigur Rós, that I was in love with these lamps.

They are vibrant and mesmerizing. I was able to stare at them for hours.

They are one of my favorite decorative items inside one of the styles that fascinates me the most - industrial style.

And are these little details that make me feel like I want a new home. Just to decorate.

Good news in the city

Ainda há pouco tempo desejava [neste post] que a H&M Home chegasse a Portugal. E, como há desejos que se tornam realidade, vai abrir, já dia 10 de Setembro, a nova flagship da H&M na totalmente renovada loja do Chiado*.

Entretanto as boas noticias continuam, a COS [que pertence à H&M] já abriu - dia 25 de Julho - a sua nova loja na Avenida da Liberdade em Lisboa, a primeira em Portugal. 

É uma marca que adoro, design minimalista, materiais diferentes e peças com bom corte e muita qualidade. Na minha opinião vale a pena pagar um pouco mais. Todas as peças que tenho da COS continuam impecáveis e, devido ao design minimal, sempre actualizadas. 

Sem dúvida, é uma óptima aposta.

e não sabia a que loja ir, agora está mais do que decidido!

Not long ago I wished [in this post] that H&M Home arrived to Portugal. And as there are wishes that come true will be opening, already September 10th, the new flagship H&M in the fully renovated Chiado's store.

However the good news continues, COS [that belongs to H&M] has opened - July 25th - their new store on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon, the first in Portugal.

It's a brand that I love, with minimalist design, different materials and items with good cut and great quality. In my opinion it's worth paying a little more. All the articles that I have from COS remain spotless and, because of minimal design, always updated.

No doubt it is a great bet.

Adoro este apartamento. Fica no Brasil e foi recuperado pelo Arquitecto Paulo Mencarini. 

A simbiose entre o look industrial e a decoração dos anos 70 fazem deste projecto uma obra de design de beleza singular. 

É lindo. Materiais, cores, decoração, tudo perfeito. Um pequeno paraíso.

I love this apartment. Is in Brazil and was recovered by the architect Paul Mencarini. 

The symbiosis between industrial look and 70s decor make this apartment a project of unique beauty. 

It's beautiful. Materials, colors, decor, everything is perfect. A little paradise.
