Spring mood in a Winter afternoon.

I was recently invited by Pedroso & Osório, to know the new collection from Designers Guild.

It was a beautiful event, in a Winter cold day but with a taste of Spring.

The presented collections are wonderful [as always] and 'breathe' spring. Flowers, colors, patterns, textures. All elements of these collections refer back to the seasons that follow.

It was a totally versatile presentation. The Designers Guild fabrics always seem to have been hand-painted each piece, the eccentricity of Christian Lacroix so catchy, is always welcome [the part of fabrics, I surrendered to beach towels - so gorgeous], and the elegance and sobriety of Ralph Lauren.

At the end they proposed us the challenge to create a mood board on textures. It was an interesting challenge and it made me think about working plenty the combination of textures in the decoration of my next home. Sometimes we are afraid to do it but works very well.

Recentemente, fui convidada, pela Pedroso & Osório, para conhecer a nova colecção da Designers Guild.

Foi um evento lindíssimo, num dia gelado de Inverno mas com sabor a Primavera.

As colecções apresentadas são maravilhosas [como sempre] e 'respiram' Primavera. Flores, cores, padrões, texturas. Todos os elementos destas colecções remetem para as estações que se seguem.

Foi uma apresentação totalmente versátil. Os tecidos da Designers Guild parecem sempre que foram pintados à mão em cada peça, a excentricidade de Christian Lacroix tão cativante, é sempre bem-vindo [à parte dos tecidos, fiquei rendida às toalhas de praia - lindas!], e a elegância e sobriedade de Ralph Lauren.

No final ainda nos propuseram o desafio de criarmos um moodboard sobre texturas. Foi um desafio bem interessante e que me fez pensar em trabalhar bastante a conjugação de texturas na decoração da minha próxima casa. Por vezes temos receio de o fazer mas resulta muito bem.

7 spring top trends for a minimalist wardrobe.

I start February just thinking about spring. I don't know if it's this wonderful sun of the last days or if it's just the same [huge] will that the warm and long days return.

Although still seem early, this is really the ideal time to start thinking about next season's wardrobe.

First, look at the trends, go through the websites of your favorite brands, analyze our wardrobe [not worth buying in duplicate or buy pieces similar to those we already have], and then buy with calmness.

Começo Fevereiro só a pensar na Primavera. Não sei se é deste sol maravilhoso dos últimos dias ou se é só mesmo da [enorme] vontade que os dias quentes e longos voltem.

Apesar de ainda parecer cedo, esta é mesmo a altura ideal para começar a pensar no guarda-roupa da próxima estação. 

Observar primeiro as tendências, percorrer os sites das nossas marcas preferidas, analisar o nosso guarda-roupa [não vale mesmo a pena comprar em duplicado ou comprar peças muito parecidas às que já temos] e depois comprar com calma. 

As tendências da próxima estação são muitas, para os mais diferentes estilos, e estas são as que considero mais interessantes e que acrescentam algo a um guarda-roupa minimal.

A Primavera começou hoje? Parecia mesmo. Este Inverno não foi fácil, chegava a parecer que estávamos num país algures no Norte da Europa, sempre cinzento, chuvoso e ventoso. O sol faz parte de nós e faz-nos muita falta.

O sol faz maravilhas, abrir a janela e quase não conseguir abrir os olhos com a luz que o sol emana é a melhor forma de começar o dia. A energia quente vinda desta estrela maior é um elixir, num dia de sol tudo corre bem. E estes primeiros dias de sol que anunciam que a chegada da Primavera está para breve são deliciosos.

A partir de agora é sempre a melhorar rumo aos longos e quentes dias de Verão. O sol brilha mais vezes, as esplanadas exercem uma força gravitacional que nos prende à boa fotossintese que nelas se faz, o final de tarde pede um petisco a meio de uma semana de trabalho [na Praia Grande, com vista para o mar que nos faz acreditar que estamos de férias], a roupa diminui e torna-se mais alegre, mais leve, tudo fica com um brilho mais especial. Ah! E a Conchanata reabre [já a fui testar no Domingo e continua divinal].

Gosto do poder especial que o sol tem. Aquece-nos o corpo e a alma. Faz bem a tudo. Faz bem a todos. Gosto muito de ti, sol.

Aproveitem ao máximo estes primeiros dias de sol porque eles são especiais.

Spring started today? Seemed. This winter wasn't easy, came to look like we were in a country somewhere in Northern Europe, always gray, rainy and windy. The sun is part of us and makes us really miss.

 

The sun does wonders, open the window and almost be unable to open our eyes because of the light that emanates from the sun is the best way to start the day. The heat energy coming from this star is an elixir, in a sunny day everything goes well. And these early days of sunshine that herald that the arrival of spring is coming soon are delicious.

 

From now on is always to straight towards the long, hot days of summer. The sun shines more often, terraces exert a gravitational force that holds us to the good photosynthesis, the end of the day asks for a snack in the middle of a week of work [in Praia Grande, overlooking the sea which makes us believe that we are in holiday], clothes decreases and becomes more joyful and lighter, everything gets a special glow. Ah! And Conchanata [icecream] reopens [already tested it last Sunday and I still great].

 

I like the special power that the sun has. Heat us the body and the soul. Is good for all. Is good for everyone. I love you, sun.

 

Take full advantage of these first sunny days because they are special.
